38/39 Nicholas Street

Michael Healy – Bootmaker

He was a former member of the Old IRA and was tasked with locating family members of those involved in the Irish War of Independence and Irish Civil War so they could receive pensions. Established in 1915 and still running by Patrick Healy in 1982.

Luke Webster – Hairdresser.

He was 5 feet 6 inches tall, had blonde hair and blue eyes. He was born in Dublin in 1864. By 1893, he also operated a shop out of his hairdressing establishment. He was married to Mary O’Mara and was recorded as a baker on his children John and Margaret’s birth certificates. By 1901, both he and Mary were not in Limerick but both their children were living with their grandfather O’Mara on Nicholas Street.
